At the beginning of the season, the CabraTec EasyGoat 2019 electric Surfboard models were introduced to the market and the team around the founder (Mira) sent us some updates. The price raised a little since the first version of the motorized EasyGoat Board but the product looks very similar on the surface. But if you look under the hood you will notice, that the powered EasyGoat Surfboard got some improvements.
Here the new updates: A higher rocker, a hydronemic hull, a revised record, a mast with 50% stiffer aluminum, one plug for all 3 motor cables, a smoother propeller, a big board bag and a bag for the wings.
The 2019 CabraTec EasyGoat E-Surfboards with Hydrofoil are limited to 5 hp (3.8 kW) to avoid a boat license in some countries, such as the Czech Republic and France. The lithium-ion battery now has an improved BMS (battery management system) and an easy-to-use plug and play charger. The 2018 came without a charger and needed some DIY experience from the drivers.
EasyGoat E-Surfboard Features
The waterproof inner board in the middle of the inflatable hull is made of carbon, as well as the 78 cm long front wing in U-shape, which is attached to an 80 cm long aluminum mast. The top speed is 35 km/h while the board at 15 km/h start to fly. In addition to the standard CabraTec EasyGoat E-Surfboards, there is now also an XL board version for 100 EUR more. The XL board is white / black and serves drivers over 85 kg. The remote control of the E-Foil Surfboard has been completely redesigned. This now has a more ergonomic shape and the display shows the speed in real time, thanks to an additional GPS system, You can choose from 3 power modes to set the maximum speed depending on the experience and the weight of the rider. The display not only shows the speed and mode, but also the remaining battery charge of the board. The remote control is buoyant and of course waterproof and the battery should last 12 hours. Future updates can be downloaded via WiFi .
The weight of the inflatable E-Foil Surfboard is 12 kg plus + 4 kg for the battery. This is very easy for a battery and explains the slightly shorter range of 50 minutes with a reduced power of 3.8 kW (most other E-Hydrofoil Surfboards offer 60 minutes at 5 kW). Fewer battery cells lower the production price and explain the low price. If you pack the Surfboard together, the dimensions are just 85 x 45 x 35 cm, which can easily be accommodated in a small car.
